Golden Retriever breeder

The guys.

Our goal at Green Meadows Goldens is to provide the best family pets we can.

Our Commitment is to breed genetically sound Golden Retrievers who possess the great personality for which Goldens are loved.

Our Farm

Our kennel was located in the picturesque foothills of the Appalachian Mountains of Alabama.  We have temporarily relocated to North Mississippi just outside of Memphis, TN.   We look forward to continuing to serve our Alabama families and adding new “Golden Families” in the mid-south area.

The Nature of Goldens

“ The Golden Retriever is a happy, loving dog. Their tails wag all the time! They are happy to see you. They are happy to go out. They are happy to eat. They are happy to get in the
car. They are just plain happy! And they are REALLY happy when they have a tennis ball or piece of clothing in their mouth. They don’t have a bad day! I think this is their most endearing characteristic.”
Chris Miele, President
Golden Retriever Club of America

Why I love Goldens

I truely believe Goldens think they are humans and want to be part of everything that we’re doing. They each have their own personality which begins to show itself as early as two weeks of age. My mom, a confirmed dog skeptic, was won over by them. You will be, too!

How Goldens Came to be

There are several theories about the origins of the Golden Retriever. The most commonly accepted theory is that they began in Scotland on the estate of Lord Tweedmouth. In 1865, Lord Tweedmouth purchased a Russian Wavy-Coated Retriever from a circus in Brighton, England. He bred it to his now extinct Tweed Water Spaniel. Their four yellow puppies were the predecessors of the modern Golden Retriever.

In 1911, Golden Retrievers were given their own club and two years later were permitted to be registered.

Just lost my 3 year old Golden and my 2 year old Golden is devastated as are we. Have had Goldens for years and want to find a great breeder without cancer, seizures and other issues in their line. We really love males/block head. Wanting to know if you have any puppies and what is the cost. We have been approved by several rescue groups so we are great pet owners. We walk several times a day and our pets are a huge part of out family.

    Hi Cindy,
I’m sorry for your loss. Goldens are truly members of our family.

We have two very adorable 6 month old male puppies out of Lady and Gates. Both Lady and Gates have been checked for hip dysplasia. Gates has been checked through PennHip and received a score of 80% which is very good. Lady has been checked through OFA and received a score of “good”. There are no known incidences of skin allergies, cancer, or seizures in their lines.
These two puppies are very intelligent and are easy to train. These puppies are crate trained and have been doing great on leash training.

Please let me know if you would be interested. We would be happy to speak with you. I may be reached at 205-577-3936

    Thanks
